A Tree Grows In . . .

. . . my house! And it's the prettiest one in all the world. Mama and dada did a great job of decorating it. I wonder if that tree will be a permanent fixture in our home. I mean it's so pretty. Why would we ever take it down? Bringing nature home for the holidays in LAUREN'S WORLD!

Dr. No!

Mama and dada took me to the doctor today. I wanted to protest - scream NO! as loud as I could. All that ended up coming out was a little drool and some bubbles. I really need to work on my words. And wouldn't you know it, today was shots day. I had to get two shots. And the worst part is, I'm not even sick! What's with that? Someone needs to explain that logic to me.

So

I will not share with you the pain I'm feeling in BOTH my thighs, but instead, share pleasant memories of my visit from Aunt Joan and my cousin Connor. They came all the way from South Carolina and Connor and I certainly had fun together. We took trips around Park Slope together, slept together, and even shared a couple drinks together. I do look forward to seeing Connor again.

Closer is Better

I just spent the last two weeks with my cousins - Alexander, Catherine, and Ava. I LOVE MY COUSINS! And let me tell you, they certainly love me. Alexander's pretty cool and cute too. I didn't see much of him, but then again, I was sleeping for most of the trip so who knows. Oh, and then there's Catherine. She's wonderful and such a big helper. I enjoyed spending so much time with her. I look forward to seeing her again soon.

My Cousin Catherine
Oh and I can't forget little adorable Ava. I think my big brother stole most of her attention but there were a couple moments where Ava and I were able to hang together.

My Cousin Ava
I want to let Catherine know again how much I appreciate the time we spent together. Next time you come to my house, we can do it all over again!

Again With Catherine
Yes it was a wonderful trip to see my cousins but wow! Talk about taking a long time to get there. If only they were closer. Well at least they know that I'm thinking of them. Missing my Flutie friends in LAUREN'S WORLD!

My Own Imaginationland

I'm learning a lot these days. No, I'm not. I just wanted to start this post with something exciting to keep my readers riveted. I pretty much just eat and sleep. Yes I do that third thing too but it's not very lady-like to talk about in public. But I am learning a thing or two about sleeping! Oh yes I am. I have learned that I have a favorite position. The arms-up technique supports maximum oxygen intake (and you thought I only knew about sleep).

And the sleeping-next-to-dada method makes for a happy mama. He's asleep. I'm asleep. Two fewer babies mama has to deal with. Giving mama some extra free time here in LAUREN'S WORLD!

My Big Brother

I wasn't quite sure how I'd feel coming into this world as a little sister. Yes, I actually knew I'd be a little sister because mama and dada would talk to me before that crazy day a little over a month ago. So, since that day my big brother has been the best. He's always running over to me while I'm in my swing to kiss my forehead. Plus, he always remembers to say goodbye if he's leaving the house without me. Sure he had plenty of one-on-one time with mama and dada for those two years before I came along, but, he didn't get to grow up with a permanent best friend by his side from day one. Thanks for making this first month an easy one. Loving my big brother in LAUREN'S WORLD!

Trick or Trick?

Don't I look pretty in my new dress? Normally a look like this would have stood out but you should have seen everyone else! And normally along with the trick of making me wear this, I'd at least get rewarded with a couple treats. Nope, not this time around. Still the same old milk.

At least I wasn't the only one wearing something a bit, how should I say, eye-catching? Dressing the part here in LAUREN'S WORLD!

Splish Splash

I had my first bath the other day.

My First Bath
I'm not quite sure what to make of the whole event because everyone else seemed to enjoy the experience more than me. I mean, what's so special about my bathing that my little brother gets to sit up on the counter and watch? I know he takes baths and I don't get propped up to watch him. Little privacy next time please?

Landen Watching Me
Alright so if that's how it's going to be then fine, not a big deal. He is my big brother and I know he's just watching over me. Not much else going on here. If there was I probably wouldn't know about it because I spend most of the day sleeping and that's fine by me! Catching some zzzzz's here in LAUREN'S WORLD!

I Have Arrived

Hello again! I'm just so happy to be here. Well, now I am but things start out a little rough. Here, wanna see?

Getting Weighed
What is this? You pluck me from this amazingly wonderful environment where everything I need is right there for me and plop me down in this room with all these noisy buzzers and alarms and beeping and people saying all these crazy things? Oh and let's not talk about the stuff on my feet. Hey, don't let my hair fool you! I'm all girl. I really don't care for the ink all over. But eventually things calmed down and you cleaned me up. Well, kinda. I think we could have done a little better job getting the cheese off.

All Bundled Up
So like I said, things got better and eventually I went home.

Coming Home
So where is home? I live in Brooklyn and I'm a Giambalvo. I mean how lucky am I? I have an older brother who loves me and gives me kisses. I have a loving nana who drove all the way up from Virginia to be here when I was born. And my parents. They're the best. My mama took such good care of me for those long, LONG months while I was inside her. My dada would talk to me during those months too and now he lets me fall asleep on his shoulder all the time. It's the best and I hear there's even more family out there that I have yet to meet. I have much to look forward to.

Getting Tired
In the meantime I think I'll just hang out and take it all in, or, take a little nap. I'm still a bit tired. Having a yawn and getting ready to doze off here in LAUREN'S WORLD!
